Your child will be looking at the books during library this week, so they will have an idea of what they want. On Thursday, during the evening, each grade will be called at a designated time to redeem your voucher.

Recently, Keith Dinwiddie, from OTC, taught 8th grade a lot of valuable things to consider after high school. In addition to all the options available at OTC, Keith also encouraged students to really think about what they like to do when choosing a career path. He also told them about the A+ program and how it can be used to make post high school education more affordable.

Sgt Joel Givens and Trooper Scott Walden taught 7th grade about a career in law enforcement. Students learned that there are many divisions in the Missouri Highway Patrol that allow for different career options. They also learned that self-control and being able to listen are very important qualities in a law enforcement officer. The most important tools they use are their ears and their brains.

He shared with the students the responsibilities of being a business owner and the freedom that comes with that ownership. He also showed them what it takes to build a house and how being able to communicate with strong people skills is vital to his success.
