student with dog
Shell Knob Schools talented 3rd and 4th grade artists have been hard at work creating adorable pet paintings for our upcoming school showcase in April! Each painting is a one-of-a-kind piece created by one of our amazing students.  Paintings will be auctioned off at the schoolwide showcase on Friday, April 10th.  All money raised will be given to The Haven of the Ozarks.  The Dog Problem Showcase Event  will be set up fair-style, with a table set out for stations.  During the event, there will be a slideshow above the stage showing pictures taken at field trips and during project work time.
This project was started in September and each grade in SKS created a mini project to help The Haven.  Students collaborated to help solve some of the problems The Haven faces each day.  In February, there was a class competition to see who could collect the most food and pet items.  The winning classes of elementary and middle school got to deliver the collection to The Haven. For elementary, 5th grade won with 413 items and for middle school, 7th grade won with 124 items. Overall, the school collected 1090 items.  From classroom to community, see how SKS is promoting responsible pet ownership.  Join SKS to celebrate a year of learning, compassion and PAWsitive impact.
