The Shell Knob elementary classes enjoyed the end of year field trip to the Wonders of Wildlife National Museum and Aquarium in Springfield. For some of the students, this was their first time to the aquarium. Everyone was so excited to see the aquatic life. A few of the favorites were the stingrays and the sharks! Students were able to climb into the tanks - specifically designed for an underwater simulation. They saw a room of seashells, jellyfish and took pictures in the jaws of a gigantic shark! On this particular day, there were 20 other school buses in the parking lot besides Shell Knob!
MIss Katie packed a picnic lunch for all trip attendees, which was devoured outside the museum. Then on the way back to school, the group stopped at Oak Park in Aurora to play and run around, reaping the benefits of the elusive sunshine! It was a great day for everyone.
