This year, Shell Knob students and staff once again participated in Give Back Day. This is the day when SKS says thank you to the community for the amazing support shown to the school. Shell Knob community supports the school in so many ways throughout the year. It is important to the staff to foster an attitude of gratitude, not only feeling grateful but also showing gratitude. Principal Ethan Farr reached out to area businesses to see if there are jobs the students can do for that particular business. He then made the schedule and the classes were sent out to work.
The younger students stayed at a school and cleaned desks, gym seats, and organized toys and supplies. Third grade students went to Noah's Arc Daycare where they spread mulch. Later, 3rd grade joined 4th grade at The Plaza and cleaned shop windows. The Central Crossing Fire District was assisted by 5th grade where they washed trucks. At CCC Camp, 6th grade spread mulch and cleaned up leaves, limbs and other debris from recent storms. Seventh grade assisted Lakeside Community Church in event prep and onsite cleanup. The 8th graders stayed at school and worked in the garden between the buildings. They also planted beautiful flowers in the flower pots that can be seen on the rock squares in front of the building. It was a great day for the students, staff and community.
