Shell Knob is excited to expand the Shell Knob Basketball Classic for 2023 to 6 teams (up from 3 last year)!  Last year we brought the tournament back after not having it for quite some time.  There is a lot of history behind the Shell Knob Basketball Classic and what it means to the community.  It used to be one of the bigger middle school tournaments in the area during the 1990s and early 2000s.  Fans from Shell Knob and other schools would pack the gym every night.  We are excited to bring that back!  The 6 teams in the tournament are Shell Knob, Crane, Blue Eye, Wheaton, Kirbyville, and Exeter.  There will be both a girls and boys bracket.

One of the favorite parts of the tournament for coaches, officials and bus drivers is the hospitality room!  This year, a delicious meal will be served by Geraldi's of Shell Knob.

Head middle school boys & girls coach Nich Hurd said, "I am very excited that we have brought this tournament back to Shell Knob, and that it will be a full tournament this year. It is a great opportunity to show off our awesome community and school. Our kids are very excited about the chance to play in a tournament at our home court, and have been working very hard to prepare for the tournament and the rest of the season."

Format: 6 team Consolation Tournament.  If a team loses 2 games, that will conclude their participation in the tournament.  1st & 3rd place games will take place on Friday, September 15. There will be no 5th place game.

Make sure to mark this on your calendar for September 11-15 and make plans to come and cheer on the Chargers!
