Shell Knob Celebrates its 8th Grade Class of 2020

On May 14th, SKS celebrated their 8th-grade students with a drive by promotion celebration.  Each student was given 10 minutes to be recognized and take pictures with family. Every student had a table decorated with his or her awards, promotion certificate, pictures, and a cake. It was a great night where students were recognized and given special time to say good-bye and be celebrated before they move on to high school. Class Valedictorian Dre’Jines and class Salutatorian Madelyn Holtmann were given a tablet and special recognition by the SKS  Lyon’s Club. Also, MJ Pendergast was awarded for being the most improved 8th-grader by the SKS Lyon’s Club. Students were awarded for being the top two in their core classes, leadership, sports, Scholar Bowl, and band. Five of the 8th-graders spent all their years at SKS: Amber Hayes, Bradyn Hayes, Michael McClary, Noah Sawyer, and Addison Sherfy. The class motto was “Ohana means family, and family means no one gets left behind”--Lilo and Stitch. Class colors were black/white and the class songs were “The Climb” by Miley Cyrus, “Africa” by Toto, and “I’ll be There for You” by The Rembrandts all chosen by the students.

If you see any of these students, tell them great job--well done: Audrey Boggs, Robert Boyd, Amber Hayes, Bradyn Hayes, Madelyn Holtmann, Dre’ Jines, Juliette Johnson, Michael McClary, Rafe Munday, MJ Pendergast, Ean Pryor, Kayli Rawlings, Noah Sawyer, Addison Sherfy, Landon Shoemaker, Hailey Turben, and Cole Watts.
