SKS Holds Fire Safety Week

Central Cross Fire TruckEach year SKS students spend a week of focused learning on fire safety.  During the week students learn about the importance of working fire alarms, fire escape plans, knowing emergency numbers, knowing their address, phone, and other important contact information, plus other important fire safety tips.

CCFPD (Central Crossing Fire Department) kicked off our Fire Prevention week with a variety of lessons and activities about fire safety. Students from pre-school through 8th grade toured the fire truck and ambulance, had a fire safety class, plus went in a smoke room to learn what it was like to be in a fire. Students young and old enjoyed taking time out of their day to learn about safety during fires and what our rescue and firemen and women do to keep us safe in an emergency.  The day ended with students getting packets of fire safety safety week

We would like to thank the men and women who took time out of their busy day to teach the children about fire safety and put together learning packs to give to the students at SKS. Thank you!
